Am I a candidate for a chin implant/submentoplasty? (Photos)

You are an excellent candidate for a chin implant. This is done through an intra-oral incision so there is no visible scarring. Another possibility would be to consider liposuction, if you have any fat, but I cannot tell that from your photograph.

Anterior neck lift with short incision underneath the chin and chin augmentation with implant or genioplasty would be my recommendation. Good luck.

From the one limited photograph, you have a recessive chin for which a chin implant can certainly improve the projection of your chin and give you better facial balance, and proportions. With respect to your neck, you appear to have some fat deposits in your neck, which are located both above and below the platysma muscle. A neck lift procedure through a 1 inch submental incision can accomplish removal of both compartments of fat. Liposuction is performed to remove the fat deposits above the muscle while surgical extraction of the fat deposits below the muscle is performed, and then a platysma plasty will significantly improve your jawline. Both the neck lift, and the chin implant can be performed through a 1 inch incision underneath the chin with no external visible scars in front or behind the ears. The skin laxity that you have in your neck cannot be addressed without placement of those incisions in front and behind your ears at age 52. Based on only one posted photo, it appears you have hypoplasia of your chin and some laxity under the chin of the skin with additional under chin, fat possible separation of the muscles. Without a virtual consultation, these are only possible options. I might do a chin implant or try a more permanent type filler to the chin , for example, VOLLUX to syringes. Then do 4 to 6 syringes of HA filler along jawline to give more definition to your jaw with liposuction under the chin or under the chin opening and tightening of the muscles with liposuction.
