Breast implant pain 6 months after procedure, is it normal or should I have follow-up sooner?

Thank you for your question. It is not unusual to experience pain and discomfort following a breast augmentation procedure. The fact that the pain subsides is a good sign. If you are concerned, however, it would probably a good idea to schedule a follow up appointment. If there is a problem, you are catching it early. If there is not a problem, an earlier follow up appointment will put your mind at ease.

Pain at 6 months is not normal and I suggest you call your surgeon's office and be seen sooner. You might be developing a capsule.

I'm sorry to hear about your discomfort. It could be related to the way you are sleeping since you mentioned you feel it when you wake up. It does not sound particularly concerning, but do mention it to your surgeon at your visit.

Hey! Thank you for sharing. Breast pain after an augmentation can last for several months. It is often muscle discomfort as the muscles are getting used to being in a new position. Continue with your normal activity and give it time. It will feel "strange" as you do certain movements. Working though the discomfort can help you to get used to the feeling. If it's a sharp pain, or a worsening pain then I would recommend following up with your surgeon for an evaluation.

Pain five months after breast augmentation sounds like somethings not related to your surgical procedure.
I think you’ll have to use your own judgment regarding how much discomfort you’re having and how much this is bothering you in regards to when you should follow up with your provider.
Perhaps you can send them an email with your concerns.
If everything else is fine with your implants, I don’t think there’s much a plastic surgeon can do regarding discomfort in your breast.

I am sorry to hear that you are having the onset of breast implant pain at 6 months after surgery. There are a multitude of potential causes for this problem,
You would benefit from an earlier return to your plastic surgeon. A re-examination of your augmentations and a discussion of the pain with your doctor would provide direction for diagnosis and treatment. If this pain is accompanied with increasing hardness of the breast, you may be having early capsule formation or another problem.
