had surgery last week, splints taken out 2 days ago. Huge nose bleed last night, got both sides cauterized. came home, nose started bleeding again, has since slowed down, but continuous ooze with small amounts of blood.

Some surgeons use a K-wire which is a stable thin metal wire that is often used in hand fractures. It is sometimes used to stabilize rib cartilage grafts to keep them straight and to also secure the graft so it does not shift.
