Is sinus ooze and small amounts of blood after nasal cautery normal?

Thank you for your question and sorry to hear about the bleeding.  Unfortunately,  as the tissues heal over sometimes scabs will form and fall off and the underneath blood vessels will bleed.  The small amount of oozing can happen and should subside, but there are things to do to keep the nose moist and vessels constricted (saline rinse, Afrin (to stop the bleeding)).  I would discuss with your surgeon first before using anything new.  Good luck, Dr. Bublik.

concern.
Bleeding after rhinoplasty is common. The fact that yours
required additional control set you to be in alert. If your bleeding is not
bright red and unstoppable then you should be ok.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact your
surgeon. She/he should be able to guide you on when to go to the emergency
department or their office. Hopefully the worst is passed.
