How stable is sliding genioplasty?

Right after the surgery, the chin segment is pretty stable. Nothing like sneezing or laughing will move anything. It would take a decent punch to the face, or to fall directly on your chin to displace it. However I would not recommend putting any extra pressure on the chin (it would not feel great either.). The bone is fully healed after 6 weeks. The bone will actually be slightly stronger than it was before. It would take even more effort to break it. Overall, this is a stable procedure with minimal probability of displacement.
