I had a sliding genioplasty over a year ago with iliac bone (ouch + scar). However, we discussed a medium movement, and now my chin seems long and unproportional. What are my further options here? I also have lower lip incompetence. Probably because the tissue/muscle cant accommodate the stretch. Original surgeon (plastic surgeon) says he sees no issue.
I had a horizontal reduction genioplasty in September 2022, done through an intraoral incision. While there has been a significant reduction from the profile view, from the front my chin looks bigger and bulkier, with significant tightness in the chin. Which is causing me some distress and discomfort.
I had a sliding genioplasty and jaw reduction a year ago and am unhappy with the genioplasty since the chin feels too protruded and looks weird and rugged when I smile or talk. Is it possible to reverse it to the picture on the right (retouched)? I'm wondering how to make up for the cut off part of the jaw line used to smooth out the sliding since if I want to reverse it wouldn't there need to be something to substitute for the circled part?
I had double jaw surgery in Dec. 2021 (3-piece Le Fort with BSSO and genioplasty), hardware removal in May (left jaw), and chin plate removal in August. My lips still dont seal, my chin dimples when I force my lips closed, and it looks like I have a ball on my chin because of the deep labiomental fold. I recently became resistant to Botox and friends, so thats not an option. I know the scar band is very tight and hard. Can this be improved or will I hide from mirrors and pics forever?
Hello, about 1,5 Years ago I had a full chin wing surgery to advance my chin about 4mm. Im unhappy with the results for several reasons and I would like to completely reverse it by the full 4mm, to get my old face/lower jaw back. My biggest fear is that this will cause additional skin sagging in the submental / lower jaw area, more than there was before the surgery. Is this true? I had heard this could be the case for reverse genioplasty surgerys. I am 27, in case this matters.
About 1 and a half years ago I underwent a sliding genioplasty and had my chin advanced 10mm. I am unhappy with the results as I feel my chin looks too big and it is not symmetric. In addition I have indentations and lines on my chin that were never there before. Is there anything I can do to shape my chin differently (now that I feel it is too big) and take care of the asymmetry?
I'm 23 yo. One year ago I underwent genioplasty due my surgeons recommendation. My symptoms were neck and TMJ discomfort, lip incompetence, chronic sore throats / tonsillitis (snoring too) and chronic fatigue. My treatment was a camouflage and I didn't even know that at that time. I still have lip incompetence. I don't like having a bulbous chin that has elongated my face and I don't feel like it fits my soft features. I would like a revision and undergo jaw surgery later...
