In my own practice patients may sleep in any position that they find comfortable. Resting on an area that's been treated by liposuction will not affect the outcome.

It is very likely there is a small capsule present which is essentially scar tissue. It will take time to resolve. If there is no or very little improvement in 6-9 mos consider excision. If there is significant improvement, consider waiting out a full year to resolve. Best wishes.
