After reading many definitions on the internet, I learnt that the Hyaluronic Acid (HA) lasts 6 months as an average. why does the Juvederm Volift, with HA as its main composition, lasts up to 15 months? is there many categories of HA? Thanks
Answer: Juvéderm Vollure is FDA approved to last up to 18 months. Hi jinanechal, thanks for your question. Duration of dermal filler is a great topic! Researchers are currently hard at work to develop new hyaluronic acid fillers that last longer, look more natural and can be used in additional areas of the face, neck and body. Juvéderm Volift (a European product) recently received FDA approval in the US under the name Juvéderm Vollure. It is FDA approved to last up to 18 months. Vollure is part of Juvéderm’s family of longer-lasting fillers, including Voluma for midface volume (which lasts up to 24 months) and Volbella for more superficial lip lines (which lasts up to 12 months). Hyaluronic acid is the basic component, but it is manufactured with “Vycross” technology - a molecular structuring technique that results in increased longevity, as well as more natural movement. It’s important to keep in mind that duration of filler often presumes “touch up” treatments. Filler treatment, and other cosmetic interventions, are rarely “one and done.” Maintenance is key. Seek out a board-certified aesthetic dermatologist who can discuss your unique goals and treatment options.

Answer: How long does JVD Volift last? Thank you for sharing your question. Because of the way that the hyaluronic acid is cross-linked in Volbella, Volift/Vollure, and Voluma they last longer than other corresponding HA fillers. Allergan touts this cross-linking as Vycross technology. Hope this helps.

Answer: Longevity of Juvederm Volift Thank you for your question regarding Volift. Yes, there are several formulations of Juvéderm, to include Voluma®, Volbella®, and Volift® (which will be called Vollure in the US). These HAs (hyaluronic acids) have different cross-linking technologies. Volift, like Voluma and Volbella are made with Vycross™ technology with high and low molecular weights, and this allows them greater longevity. They are wonderful, natural-looking products when injected correctly by a Board Certified provider. Best of luck choosing your provider who should be able to steer you in the right direction for the filler best suited for YOU!
