Im pregnant after having a tummy tuck 5 yrs ago..is it safe because i gain 20 kilos during my pregnant and my palvic area is so small I carry my babies outside..can my tummy open where my scar is if I gain that much weight
Answer: Being pregnant after a tummy tuck. Could my scar open if I gain too much weight? Yes, it is possible to safely carry a baby after having the abdominoplasty procedure. In general, it is in your best interest, to be as certain as possible that no more pregnancies are in your future prior to having the tummy tuck. Pregnancy after abdominoplasty may cause changes that will require further surgery to correct. Your scar will not reopen. Generally speaking, the “ideal” patient for tummy tuck surgery is one who has completed pregnancies, is psycho socially/emotionally/financially stable, has an excellent social support system surrounding him/her, is capable of arranging enough recovery time, does not smoke and who has reached a long-term stable weight. Answer: Pregnancy is possible after abdominoplasty but may undo some of the aesthetic improvement. I don't think that your scar will be significantly altered by a subsequent Pregnancy after abdominoplasty. I do think that you may experience recurrent skin laxity as well as abdominal wall laxity.

Answer: Pregnancy after tummy tuck You should be fine with your pregnancy after a tummy tuck. However, you may experience excess skin with laxity together with widening of your abdominal muscle after this. You may consider another tummy tuck if these occur. All the best.

In a tummy tuck, we are putting your body back together similiar to what you were like before you were pregnant. Your muscle tension, your skin and your fat contours are adjusted. Once you are fully healed from your surgery, your body is just as able to accept a pregnancy as it was before your first pregnancy. However, if your belly area stretched after your first pregnancy, then you are likely to stretch again after your next pregnancy. Most surgeons recommend to have a tummy tuck after you are finished having childern, however, in certain instances, such as starting to date again, or just not being happy with your post pregnancy body, then it makes sense to go ahead and have a tummy tuck.
