six months, and even one year. The nerve pain you describe will subside after a year post op. During this time of healing, your nerves are regrowing in the surgical area.  Several possibilities could be causing your discomfort after tummy tuck. Sensory nerves can be irritated as they grow back into the lower abdominal area. This can take the form of sore spots, lightning bolts, itching  and numbness. Some simple solutions include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines like Aleve or Motrin in the short-term, and sometimes localized painful spots can be calmed down with localized injections of Marcaine and Kenalog. The good news is is that most of these resolve with time.
