Could sore points on abdomen be trapped nerves - discomfort 6 months after Tummy tuck and periodic burning.

 Several possibilities could be causing your discomfort after tummy tuck. Sensory nerves can be irritated as they grow back into the lower abdominal area. This can take the form of sore spots, lightning bolts, itching  and numbness. Some simple solutions include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines like Aleve or Motrin in the short-term, and sometimes localized painful spots can be calmed down with localized injections of Marcaine and Kenalog. The good news is is that most of these resolve with time.

several months and will gradually improve and will look better at three months,
six months, and even one year. The nerve pain you describe will subside after a year post op. During this time of healing, your nerves are regrowing in the surgical area. It can feel like burning, sharp pains and sensitivity.  It sounds like these areas are either quilting sutures that were placed as part of your Abdomino plasty, or potentially areas of fat necrosis from the procedure. This would be more common if you also had liposuction  at the same time. Nerves can certainly be involved in the healing process, however it is unusual to have burning this far after surgery. You could have the nodules evaluated with ultrasound or aspiration to further clarify the etiology.

This is not unusual while healing for a tummy tuck. Entrapped nerves typically will be a sharp pain. I typically tell my patients to allow a full year to go buy before deciding something may need to be done. Scar maturation and the healing process is not complete until one year post op. At that point, if you still have the pain, your plastic surgeon can inject the area with local anesthetic. If the pain immediately resolves, it is not likely related to nerve pain.
