Did I ruin my 24 year old skin after microneedling? (photos)

Hi, thank you for the photos. Don't worry - it looks completely normal and you have not ruined your skin. Microneedling causes a lot of trauma to the skin, so it is normal for severe redness, swelling, pigmentation, and even bruising. Please allow 2 full weeks to fully settle and heal.

Redness up to 5 days post Micro needling is very normal. Remember you cause micro injury to induce healing. Next time you should consider incorporating PRP as it well help you recover quicker. Make sure you are properly hydrating the skin with growth factors or hylauronic serum and that you are staying away from acids, peels, scrubs, waxes etc

Thank you for your photos. Microneedling can take up to a week for the redness, swelling, and flaking to go away. Track mark lines are not ideal however the majority of these are superficial and temporary and will fade with your swelling and redness. It is too early to tell your final results but it is best to keep your skin moisturized and protected and out of the sun. Hope this helps!

Your skin is likely inflamed from the procedure. Remember with microneedling and many things in aesthetic medicine, we are creating an injury to force the body to “Reset” and create new, healthier skin. There is a possibility you’re allergic to a topical product used in conjunction with the procedure if it’s overly inflamed. I would follow up with your esthetician regardless or find one you trust locally. Good luck!
