Question

My jawline is pretty difficult to see and my profile shows little transition from jaw to neck. I grew out a "chinstrap" beard to try and define my face a bit more, but I don't feel like it's enough. I've heard of chin implants and stuff, but I'd really like a professional opinion before moving forward with any procedures.

There is little question that your entire lower jaw is developmentally short and rotated backwards, giving you a very short chin and lack of a well defined jawline. Bony enhancement of the jawline is what you need, not liposuction as this is not a soft tissue fat problem. Ideally a combined chin and jaw angle augmentation by implants would produce the best total jawline change.

The photographs demonstrate recessive chin profile. A chin implant can be inserted through a sub mental incision to give added projection to the chin to help with facial balance. Chin implants are manufactured in a variety Shapes and sizes, are composed of Silastic, and are  inserted under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. A chin implant will improve your profile. I frequently do liposuction along the jawline at the same time; I determine the need for that during the pre-operative examination.
