If you had youre boobs done Will a bbl (months later) combined with tummytuck increase risk of something? Like emboli? And clots. Or delay healing? If so i will do bbl first then boobs.. but i want my boobs done first
Answer: Thromboembolism after TT/BBL Patients undergoing so extensive surgery such is abdominoplasty and BBL in the same time, are at increased risk for thromboembolism. For that reason, you should be placed on blood thinner after surgery for 7-10 days, combined with early ambulation and compressive stockings. Blood cloths can form as far as 3 months after this type of surgery! Recent surgery, like breast augmentation, would slightly increase the risks for this complication, but not significantly. This is an issue to discuss with your surgeon prior to surgery. Good luck.

Answer: Waiting time Dear LittleMissy1999, you should be fully healed prior to another elective procedure. Most plastic surgeons will recommend you to wait at least 6 months. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: BBL Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Your history of breast augmentation does not increase your risk of blood clots for this procedure, however, combining tummy tuck with BBL may increase your risk of blood clots. Discuss your risks with your plastic surgeon. I hope this helps.

Answer: Combined procedures Long combined procedures increase a risk of medical complications including blood clots. Fat embolism is a condition that has been reported as happening during the BBL procedure and it’s probably not related to combined procedures but rather to using in the inappropriate technique which must plastic surgeons have now abandoned. The bottom line is that longer procedures increase complication rates. Many plastic surgeons use six hours as the cut off for procedures that are considered excessive. Typically a tummy tuck and breast surgery are good procedures to be done at the same time. The BBL procedure does not complement while with a tummy tuck or breast surgery. At tummy tuck or breath surgery it does not allow the patient to lay face down while resting or sleeping and this is what’s needed to take pressure off of the buttocks after a BBL. I suggest scheduling multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons at which time you can discuss and seek each persons opinion about combined procedures. Often times both surgeons and patients want to do combined procedures because they are more efficient. Sometimes doing too much surgery at the same time can limit results and can increase risk of complications. Surgeons opinions will vary on the topic and to some degree based on each individual patient based on the extent and amount of work which can vary. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Surgical risks Hi and welcome to our forum! In our practice, we separate a BBL from a tummy tuck into two separate procedures. You should not rest upon your back after BBL and you can't rest upon your abdomen after abdominoplasty as you wish to avoid excessive pressure on these areas after surgery for at least several weeks. You can combine a breast augmentation with a tummy tuck and undergo BBL 3-6 months later (or vice versa) without an increased risk of pulmonary embolism or healing difficulties.Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation, examination, and discussion.Best wishes...
