Lumps form 3 months after I get filler in tear trough, why is this happening?

I have been getting tear trough filler for several years now. It has always looked good until recently. About two to three months AFTER I get injections, lu os form. The lump I have now is so large that I can see it in my perennial vision. Why is this happening?

This is difficult to answer without pictures and needs an in-person evaluation. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Injecting the tear trough can be very challenging. Complications are common. It sounds like you may have developed some scarring or some residual filler. A consultation with your plastic surgeon is in order. The "lump" can be treated with hyaluronidase to break down the product.

It would have been helpful to see a picture but it is always best to have an in person consultation.  If you had HA fillers injected, the bumps can be either softened or eliminated with Hyaluronidase injections. Bumps can happen and their act cause is difficult to determine, it might be the product, the injection technique, any recent infections you had, if you suffer from seasonal allergies, or if you had any recent dental work, etc. Too many to list.
