Estrogen-containing birth control pills can increase the risk of blood clots, which can lead to a very serious medical issue called pulmonary embolism.    Ask your surgeon what he or she recommends, but  I advise my patients to stop taking birth control before surgery such as a brazilian butt lift.  Your unique health concerns need to be considered, so please ask your physician!

If you're having general anesthesia, yes you need to discontinue the use of your birth control at least two weeks prior to surgery and be sure to use secondary protection if being sexually active. Thank you for your question.
