Is being pre-diabetic puts me a greater risk for a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure?

My doctor refuses to clear me for surgery saying that because I am borderline diabetic I am at increased risk of infection and poor healing. I am very disappointed that I started to cry right there in the office. I have already paid my money and did not think this would have been an issue especially since I don't take any meds for diabetes.
