I had a touch up procedure done 3 weeks ago, to rectify a strange pocket of fat above my belly button. I am now noticing a deep crease above the area that was suctioned. Is this permanent? Will it disappear?
Answer: Contour irregularities after liposuction can appear extreme if they are redundancies of skin. From the preoperative photograph it looks as though there was some surplus of skin to begin with. Liposuction, with its reduction volume, can exacerbate a skinfold. In your particular circumstance there is still a sizable amount of swelling and you should see improvement as this subsides.

Answer: Touch Up Procedure At this point you are early in healing and doing post operative ultrasound, massage and radiofrequency would help. It appears to me you were more of a tummy tuck candidate with liposuction prior to surgery but now that you had liposuction, if you do not get the results you want I suggest seeing a dermatologist/plastic surgeon who specializes in hi definition stomach contouring. I do this frequently and often have to combine liposuction with skin surgery to get the best results, that is a big part of our practice. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Liposuction It is possible that the garment (if you are wearing one) is not worn properly and is making the crease that is shown in the picture. I advise that u massage the area and make sure that the compression is worn so there is even pressure placed throughout.

Answer: Creases after liposuction Three weeks post-op is far too early to judge the results of a liposuction. I would recommend wearing your compression garment for another three weeks, and then re-evaluate your post-op creases. If they are better, wait out another three months before seeking more surgery. If they are not better, you will need a touch up lipo with cross direction canula paths to break up the ceases. Your surgeon will give you the best advice.
