In 2015 I had gummy bear implants placed and had my nipples moved to the center. Last year my chest implants still looked full. I recently noticed my bras were becoming really loose. I also have noticed more armpit creases. Does this look like a possible rupture? If so is there any risk?
Answer: Does this look like a possible rupture? As it had been nearly seven years since your surgery, it would be appropriate to have your implants evaluated by either a high resolution ultrasound or MRI examination. This will answer your question regarding implant rupture/failure. These and other questions can be addressed by your surgeon who would have the benefit of a physical examination or your breasts. .

Answer: Implants Your pockets may have changed some with time. I would suggest going back to your surgeon and being checked. You might not be able to tell any changes with an actual rupture.

Answer: In 2015 I had gummy bear implants placed and had my nipples moved to the center. Does this look like a possible rupture? Hi. It would be extremely difficult to tell based on a picture alone if your implants are leaking, with them being gummy bear silicone gel implants. Even on physical examination it can be extremely hard to tell, and almost never definitive, based on physical exam alone. MRI or ultrasound is typically recommended to further evaluate the status of the implants. I would recommend getting in to see a board certified plastic surgeon, typically and preferably the one that did your original surgery, to examine you and give you options based on a full assessment. Good luck and take care, Dr. Howell

Answer: Breast implant question Thank you for the question. You should discuss this with your surgeon. Although rupture is possible (an MRI would diagnose this) this could be due to capsular contracture. I wish you the best of luck. Vasileios Vasilakis, MD. Double board-certified, fellowship-trained plastic surgeon, Houston. TX.
