Scalp advancement with/without anchoring - is there much of a difference in the outcome?

I noticed some surgeons will anchor the advanced scalp during the procedure, but a few surgeons stated they don't anchor the advanced scalp, is there much of a difference in the outcome, or perhaps an alternative method that prevents tension on incision site that these other surgeons use?
