How long will my face be swollen after buccal fat pad removal?

In my practice, the length of the swelling post buccal fat removal could be removed in two types: short and long. Most patients (90%) tend to have a short post surgical swelling that last for 1 to 2 days.In a few number of patients ( 10%) , the swelling could last up to 5 days. This depends on the patient's body ability to heal after surgery. 

Thank you for your question. Maximum swelling occurs at about 72 hours following surgery and will subside over the following 2 weeks. I tell my patients that they will not see their final results for 3-6 months. Best of luck.
