How long will my face be swollen after buccal fat pad removal?

I know everyone is different when it comes to swelling. I've pretty much decided on moving forward with the procedure but I have an event coming up in January that I don't want to have a puffy face for.

Patients may present with facial asymmetry post buccal fat removal, specially if they had a complication with the procedure (e.g. infection / abscess). Most of the asymmetry is usually secondary to residual swelling, which very commonly more intense in one side of the face.  Healing process...

Thank you for your question. I recommend you make an appointment to see a plastic surgeon so they may evaluate your complaint. I imagine they will be able to easily removed the offending suture. Best of luck.

Once the buccal fat pads are removed from the cheeks, they won't reappear even if a woman gets pregnant,. However, the face fat surrounding the area where the buccal fat pads could increase with pregnancy, thus masking the result of buccal fat removal.

Young patients in their early 20s who have chubby cheeks and good cheek bones could benefit from buccal fat removal. Buccal fat removal corrects the chubby cheeks thus giving the face a thinner more chiseled look.
