After facelift, which type of soap should I use on my face?

4 weeks ago , I had a mid face-lift and lower + upper blepharoplasty. When I wash my face in the shower, the dead skin appears on my face and with difficulty I scrub It off with cotton ball and Q-tip ( eye lid) I'm worried about loosening my skin, so what type of face soap should I use? Or should I not take real hot showers and just wash my face outside shower?

This is something you should discuss with your surgeon. I recommend a gentle non-abrasive cleanser. Many surgeons carry high quality products in their office. Good luck.

Thank you for the question. There are many changes that can occur to the skin following a facelift. For this reason, we have all of our patients see a master aesthetician for evaluation and treatment to help guide them through the process as the skin changes. I suggest discussing this question with your surgeon to find out if there’s anything special that you should be doing, but usually most patients at this point after facelift can resume their normal routine. Good luck as you heal!

Every plastic surgeon has their own set of instructions. Please follow those set by the surgeon you chose to trust your face too. I personally recommend my patients use a mild cleanser like Cetaphil  which is inexpensive and works great.  At four weeks your incisions should be well healed and no longer require application of ointment. If you were having significant swapping of skin please visit your surgeon and discuss in person.
