Eyelid retraction - Would this be a simple fix by a occuloplastic surgeon? Or am I stuck with this? (Photos)

This is post blepharoplasty lower eyelid retraction. Almost all Oculoplastic surgeons you see will recommend a canthoplasty with or without a skin graft. An isolated canthoplasty will never fix this, so give up the notion that just having a “stitch” put in repair this. Even worse, well meaning surgeons will use up limited eyelid structure attempting a repair. Do that several times and you will end up with an unrepairable problem. A canthoplasty with skin graft can successfully reposition the lower eyelid retraction. However it is bitter medicine because the appearance of the skin graft is never right. To successfully repair this cosmetically I have developed the definitive surgery for this. In short the cheek is vertically lifted on to a custom made orbital rim implant that is fixed to the bone with micro screws. The lifted cheek is fixed to the implant which serves as a place to permanently support the cheek. This brings the new skin and soft tissue needed for the repair of the lower eyelid. Additionally a hard palate graft from the roof of the mouth is needed to shape the lower eyelid so the lateral canthal angle can be repaired without tension.
