Hi Rebeca. The main three implant companies each make silicone implants in the 100 cc range. That's a very small implant and won't make much of a noticeable change in your breast size. Most patients in our practice get implants in the 350-450 range. My suggestion is to visit a practice like ours that has a Vectra 3D imaging system. This camera takes a 3D photo of you, then shows you what you would look like with any size implant on the market. It's a great way for you to figure out which implants are too small, too big, and just right. Dr J
While the smallest implants commercially available is about 100cc, if you are looking for only a very small amount of breast added, fat transfer might be an option for you. Hope that helps.
The important thing to understand about breast implant sizing is not to start from the number of cc's and work backwards. It's also not the case that you can choose a number of cc's and make it work any more than you can choose a hip implant size or a shoe size or a dress size and make it work. A breast implant is a pillow of volume that needs to be behind the base of the breast in order to fill it out properly. Therefore, the smallest breast implant that will fit you and look natural without distorting the breast form would be the lowest forward volume (profile) in a round implant with a diameter that matches the base width of your breast measured upright with your arms down. In most cases this would increase your apparent cup size by about one cup size from what you started with.
to my knowledge 100 cc breast implants are the smallest size breast implants generally available. However custom made implants are available and may be made in smaller sizes.
In the early postop period, it's not unusual to hear sounds due to the air that is in the pockets after surgery. However, that air is gradually absorbed, and eventually those noises go away. To hear a new clicking sound ten months after surgery is unusual. You should contact your plastic...
You are still very early in the recovery process, and your implants are high. This is normal. You should see your plastic surgeon, so that he/she can give you guidance such as the possibility of wearing a bandeau (elastic band) to lower the implants into the breast pockets.Right after surgery,...
Thanks for your question. I would not worry. Sometimes blood can come up to the surface that has been sitting in the surgical site for a long time before it appears as a visible bruise on the skin. If your bruised breast is not markedly swollen, and the pain is improving, this is not of concern....
