Why is my left breast not dropping? (Photo)

Question

I had breast augmentation with 650cc silicone implants and a donut lift a little over 10 months ago. My left breast still hasn't dropped. It is firmer than the right one but the implant does move around within the pocket. Do I need corrective surgery? My surgeon says that although they don't look the same, nothing is wrong in the left breast. I hate the way it looks!

An exam is required to tell for sure but it appears you either have capsular contracture or an asymmetric pocket.  It also looks like you would benefit from a full breast lift rather than the peri areolar lift that was done.  I would meet with a few PS to discuss your options, and ask your original PS as well. Breast asymmetry is extremely common both in the augmented and natural breast.  Your implant can be dropped by a surgical revision if needed.

If the left breast feels firmer than the right it is possible with capsular contracture is a source of your problem. The capsule in this circumstance artificially supports the volume of the prosthesis.

You appear to have a difference in the height of the nipples as well as a difference in the height if the implants.Even a perfect positioning of the implants won't correct a difference in nipple height.Many patients want to avoid breast lift incisions at any cost, and sometimes end up with differences in nipple height that a different lift technique would correct.The around-the-areolar lifts are weaker than anchor type lifts.  Often, changing the lift type when the revision is done helps a great deal.While very large implants are to an extent a stylistic choice, they do tend to create problems over time, so when the revision is done is a good time to see if there is a better sized implant that would achieve your goals

I'm sorry to hear of the difficulty that you are having.  Since the left breast feels harder and the implant does not move you may well have a capsular contraction.  If you do have a capsular contraction revision with removal of Implant and Replacement with Textured Implant and Acellular Dermal Wrap May Be Required.The Other Possibility Is That There Was Asymmetrical Skin Removal during Your Left with More Skin Removed from the Lower Pole of the Left Breast and That There Is Less Skin Available to Stretch and Help the Implant Drop.
