Hard swollen lumps under eyes 6 months after Juvederm cheek filler

Question

I had juvederm injected high in each cheek to plump out the wrinkles at the sides of my eyes 6 months ago. I had a bit of bruising at the time but nothing else. 6 weeks ago my eyes started looking puffy and this has got worse. 3 weeks ago hard lumps appeared which have got worse. I have intermittent pain above my eyes. my doctor diagnosed sinusitis but Antibiotics and nasal sprays haven't worked. IS this the filler? I've had 1 treatment to dissolve it but no effect 2 days later and I'm worried!

This could be either an inflammatory or infectious response to the filler. Make an appointment to see your injector to assess. More hyaluronidase may be needed to dissolve the filler. So sorry that you are experiencing this. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Although not common some people can develop nodules months after injections.  Can be inflammatory and occasionally infection.  More hyaluronidase is needs for juvederm than for other fillers and may need multiple injections.  Go back to doctor and get more.

It sounds as if you may have developed an inflammatory and or infectious problem as a result your injections.  This can only be determined by evaluation from a highly experienced physician who has experience managing such conditions.
