I'm looking to get a BA this spring and don't want to tell anyone except my mom. I am hoping to go for a really natural look. I will only have 14 days off for recovery. I'm not looking to get big implants just maybe a cup size up from my small B. Could I get away with keeping this a secret... any thoughts?
Answer: Conservative Breast Augmentation and Confidentiality Conservative Breast Augmentation and ConfidentialityIt is good that your Mom knows. Someone has to help you during this process. If you have the modest increase you mentioned and do not wear tight/showy clothing you will be fine.

Answer: Natural breast augmentation You're not alone! I think quite a few patients looking for breast augmentation are not forthcoming with friends/family outside of their immediate circle. Whether of not they are able to pull it off depends on how big of a change they are hoping for. A single cup size increase will have a couple benefits for you -- firstly, it may absolutely be possible to keep this a secret, and secondly, smaller implants result in less stretching of the muscle and so less pain after surgery. 14 days should be more than plenty to be recovered enough to return to normal daily activities and work. Check out the anatomic, or shaped, breast implants -- they offer an extremely natural look with a nice sloped upper portion of the breast, and a rounded, convex lower portion of the breast. This may be exactly what you are looking for!

Answer: Privacy with implants You can choose not to tell others.. You are entitled to your privacy. Whether someone else suspects you have implants, who knows? And you know what? Who cares what other people think or say. It's your body and your money. Don't worry about what others think and you will be much better off in my opinion. Good luck!

Answer: Discreet Breast Augmentation Hi Sunny. You're definitely not alone in your desire to keep your breast augmentation private. Lots of women don't make their cosmetic surgeries public knowledge. As long as your mother is there to drive you and take care of you after surgery, you should be fine. Even with smaller implants, your breasts will be swollen and high for a few weeks after your procedure, but this can be concealed beneath loose clothing. Other tricks for camouflaging your chest in the beginning include darker colored or patterned tops, thicker fabrics, and scarves or draping. Eventually, you'll be more comfortable in lower necklines and more fitted tops, but it sounds like you'll want to ease into those gradually. By summertime, when the weather calls for more revealing clothing, your breasts will have settled and softened quite a bit, and you should have a natural look that no one will question. Good luck!

Answer: Is it possible to get a BA without telling friends or family? A breast augmentation can be a very private undertaking for some. Given your request to go with a modest implant, you may be able to avoid inquiries after the immediate convalescence. A nice natural result can certainly be created for you.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
