Uneven breasts/capsular contracture, 4 weeks Post-op (Photo)

Question

i know this have been asked a million of times. Y are my breasts uneven after ba? I am 4 weeks post op. My left breast is fuller than my right one. my ps said that my left one is sitting higher than my right one. So he's showed me how to massage it pushing my implants down. Also, he mentioned that it can be an early sign of contracture. So he prescribed some meds and vitamins. He never said anything abt them dropping and fluffing for the next few months. Does it look like a contracture?

Thank you for your question and the
picture.It is too difficult to tell about CC from the picture alone.  You could have a seroma or simply different sized breasts.  Also, 4 weeks is too early to tell what your final result is going to be.Return to see your surgeon if your are unsure or need more instruction. If you are still unsatisfied, see two or more
board-certified plastic surgeons for a second opinion if needed.

Hi and thanks for the question and photograph. think its too early for this to be Capsular Contracture! Your photograph does show quite unEven looking breasts. at 4 weeks things to consider are seroma (fluid around an implant) and asymmetric swelling or even  small amount of blood around the implant. see your PS, and consider an ultrasound scan to check and if all ok, simply follow advice and give more time fr swelling to settle. At 4 weeks post-op, you are still healing from your surgery.  They should continue to settle and fill out toward the bottom of your breasts but it can take anywhere from 3-6 months so try to be patient.  As for your asymmetry, it's difficult to say what exactly you may be experiencing from a photo so it would be best to see your surgeon for an exam.  Keep an eye on it and continue to follow his instructions and have close communication with him. ac

It is difficult to tell just from the photos. The two breasts appear at least in the photo to be two different sizes.

Hard to tell if you have CC based on photos and these things are best decided on exam. In any case it is early to be sure of anything permanent. Follow your surgeons instructions which seem correct. Likely all will be fine.

It would be unusual to have a contracture this early.  The capsule has to form first before it can contract. The photo is too close up and out of focus to tell too much from it. Chances are you are seeing a differential rate of relaxation of the pectoral muscles, and this is quite common after surgery, assuming these are round under the muscle implants. Allow three to six months for the pectoral muscles to adapt to the presence of the implants.All the best.

Am I safe to assume these implants are under you pec muscles?  If so, then I highly doubt that you have a CC.  It would be very rare this early post op. The more likely explanation is that one side is tighter than the other or that the pec muscle is pulling one side up.  That's why your surgeon has recommended massages.  Most women take about 3 months for the implants to settle and end up symmetric so follow your doctor's advice for now.
