I had a Liplift 2 years ago and I got a hypertrophic scar…will micro needling help? (Photo)

Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Microneedling in combination with topicals, such as corticosteroids, has been described in multiple studies for acne scars, burn scars, and hypertrophic scars, reducing scar size and repigmentation.Corticosteroid injections: This is the main treatment for hypertrophic scars. Injections are made into the scar tissue. They flatten and soften scar tissue and ease pain and itch. Cryotherapy and laser therapy, including long-pulsed laser or pulsed dye laser, have proven benefits in treating hypertrophic scars. Hope this helps

Intralesional injections of anti-inflammatory agents would first be advised to flatten any elevated (hypertrophic) portions of the scars. Once done, then professionally performed manual microneedling (no need for the added expense and risks of RF microneedling) can be performed to accompanied by the topical application of prescription pigment promoting medications to both better blend the scars in both texture and color with the surrounding normal skin.
