Can I get an elective procedure with a blood disorder under control? I take baby aspirin everyday.

Generally speaking, many people who have sticky blood and require aspirin therapy to inhibit platelet function can safely undergo cosmetic surgery. These patients may be told to stop their baby aspirin 2 weeks before surgery and two weeks after surgery. This would need to be with the approval of somebody's hematologist. I hope this helps! I don’t think your situation would be a problem for most plastic surgeons doing rhinoplasty. The question is whether the aspirin should be stopped or not prior to surgery. The other option is to put you on a blood thinner called Lovenox during surgery

If you have clearance from your hematologist then you can have surgery. You may want to do them all separately rather than all together to minimize potential complications from blood loss.

Most plastic surgeons will not recommend aesthetic surgery unless the treatment with aspirin is discontinued for about two weeks before surgery and two weeks after surgery. Because aspirin affects the function of platelets, surgery performed without discontinuing aspirin can lead to increased risk of bleeding complications. Ask your hematologist if you can discontinue the aspirin therapy for about four weeks total. Also, ask you plastic surgeon and hematologist about bridging that four weeks with an alternative antocoagulant like lovenox or eliquis. Certain operations like facelift surgery are at very high risk for bleeding with any anticoagulant on-board. Best of luck!

If you have a significant issue such as a blood disorder, you need to get clearance from your hematologist. In addition, you're also going to need to be off aspirin for two weeks prior and two weeks after any elective procedure, especially a rhinoplasty. You don't want stir up a nosebleed While on blood thinners.

It sounds to me like you’ve answered your own question.
You are correct and that some plastic surgeons may not want to do surgery on individuals who have bleeding disorders and some may consider doing it if it seems appropriate.
I’m guessing the most plastic surgeons will ask you to get clearance from your hematologist.
I suggest having a few in person consultations with plastic surgeons in your community to get a quality assessment and better understanding of each providers view of this topic.
