Hair loss and finasteride: I ran out of finasteride.

Question

I won’t be able to refill script for a week due to travel. Is this amount of time without the drug enough to induce the hair loss process, or am I ok waiting a week? Thx.

This may not cause significant hair fall. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone which can help with hair regrowth and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Finasteride stays in your hair follicles for up to 10 days, so missing it for a week, although not a good thing, will be ok

I would not worry about missing one week of Finasteride.  Typically stopping for a month or longer may cause a problem.  Good luck!
