Is clobetasol ointment 0.05% effective in treating eyebrow hair loss from FFA?

Is clobetasol ointment better than non-steroid creams to stop further hair loss in eyebrows from FFA? Any chance clobetasol could help regrow some eyebrow hair too? Thank you for your help.

I agree with dr. Rassman and Donovan regarding the strength of a steroid in the periorbital region. Protopic and Elidil are good  alternative choice. In my opinion, the ability of these steroids to work is dependent upon how long the FFA has been present. If the follicular units are no longer present, nothing can bring them back. Steroid creams do not regrow hair.  You need be under the care of a dermatologist for your FFA.

Clobetasol is far too strong of a steroid in my opinion for routine use around the eye. A better option (in my opinion) is a periodic use of a weaker steroid like fluocinonide as well as consideration of a non steroid like pimecrolimus. Steroid injections can be considered as our research from 2010 (Reference below) showed some women get regrowth with triamcinolone acetonide.But clobetasol in my opinion is too strong of a steroid around the eyes for routine use.
