I am an East-Asian female (60's) and broke my ribs in SEP 2017. I shed immediately and by OCT, lost ~40% of my hair. The shedding was all over. I called a hair loss clinic and they said that it's telogen effluvium, over the phone. Here is my timeline: Early SEP 2017: Broken Ribs Mid OCT 2017: Ribs healed / lost 40% of hair Early NOV 2017: Started on anti-hair loss shampoo and biotin Mid NOV 2017: Started on 5% minodixil Mid JAN 2018: Shedding has stopped

Answer: Hair loss I would advise see a physician for an in person evaluation. Your photos suggest other diagnoses could be present as well- either with a telogen effluvium or instead. In order to diagnose hair loss, a careful history of the patient’s heath and hair loss is needed, along with an up close examination of the scalp. For suspected telogen effluvium, blood tests are needed as well. Please see a physician if your concerns persist. If you feel confident you know the trigger, things should be improved in 6-9 months.

Answer: TE TE reflects the hair cycle which in most women over 60, is relatively shorter than when you were yonger. If it does not reverse in a year, consider a cosmetic solution which is often performed in post menopausal women who have hair loss called Scalp Micropitmentation. Stress can induce genetic hair loss which in women of your age may not be reversable.
