How much volume is generally removed with chin/jowl liposuction? (Photo)

Question

I had chin/Jowl liposuction completed 2 days ago. I am thin but had stubborn areas. I had gastro the days leading up to the surgery and lost a few kilos. The surgeon said it would still be ok. I had a look at the amount removed (in the tube) and it looked like a few teaspoons. How much fat is generally removed? is that amount likely to make a significant change? I've started to put the few kilos back on after the gastro so now I'm just stressing that maybe I should have had more removed? Thanks

The amount of fat removed
after chin and neck liposuction will appear unimpressive to the average person.
 The layer of fat in the neck that is removed during neck liposuction is
close to the skin.  Liposuction is not performed in the deeper layers of
the neck to prevent injuries.  For this reason, the area to remove fat in
the neck is relatively small.

Removing
a small amount of fat during neck liposuction in the neck can go a long way.

Generally speaking, there is not a huge amount of fat removed when liposuction is done under the chin.  The area is fairly small, so it does not take a lot of fat removal to make a change in the appearance.  Frequently the amount of fat removed will only stay in the suction tube and sometimes not even make it into the canister.  Of course, it will take some time to see the results after the procedure, as the swelling immediately after will alter the appearance.

Thank you for your question.  The amount of lipo aspirate removed is generally small.  In looking at your photo, it probably only took a few teaspoons to reach endpoint.  There can be deformities that are difficult to correct when the sub mental area is aggressively over liposuctioned.  Good luck
