First time using Dysport and my neck and shoulders are stiff, is this normal?

Hi There,I would follow up with your provider who injected you but this it would be very very unusual for dysport to cause this.  It could be unrelated and you could be having symptoms from something else.

Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry to hear of your symptoms.  I would find it very odd for the location of your injections to have manifested issues in your neck, shoulders, and throat.  I think they are unrelated and would speak with your general practice doctor or neurologist for a workup of your current complaints.  Best wishes. 

The heavy feeling of your forehead and eyes may be related to your treatment, but typically resolve after a few days to a week. The other symptoms you are experiencing are likely unrelated to your Dypsort treatment and sound like you may be getting a cold or other type of infection and should be evaluated by your primary care physician if they do not improve.

This is probably not related to your Dysport injections as there is no data to suggest that these side effects are the caused by Dysport. 20 units is a very low dose. I would suggest visiting a GP to discuss your symptoms before returning to the injector. 

Thank you for your question. I would find it very unusual for your symptoms to be caused by Dysport. To begin with, 20 units is an extremely low dose. We treat most areas with 50 to 60 units. Second, your symptoms are quite a distance from your injections. Possibilities for it to relate to your injections would include being injected with a substance other than Dysport. There were some well reported cases in the U.S. where individuals were injected with another substance reported to be Botox that resulted in paralysis. Another possibility would be that the Dysport unmasked an underlying neuromuscular disorder. Beyond this, I cannot think of a relationship to your injections.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
