Hi. I had pro fractional laser on one area at the top of my cheek for depleted collagen weeks ago. It has healed but it is still quite pink/red looking. My question is a few weeks before I had the laser I had juvaderm injected into the same area by the same dermatologist. I have just noticed some lines in that cheek area that were there before I got the filler. Is it possible that the laser broke down the filler and I'm now back to the pre filler state??? Thank u
Answer: Laser plus filler The laser does not penetrate deep enough to damage the filler. Any concerns should be addressed to the doctor who performed the Adler treatment.

Answer: Fractional Laser and Fillers The likelyhood of the laser penetrating deep enough to alter the filler is very low. You should be fine to have your laser without any worries. The only time this should be avoided is when fillers are injected very superficially under the skin. Best to ask the Dr who performed your fillers about how deep the filler was injected. Hope this is helpful.

Answer: Does Profractional laser breakdown Juvederm Thanks for your question, Lisa. Depending upon how superficially the Juvederm was injected, there is a possibility the laser did destroy some of it. The laser can only penetrate to a somewhat superficial depth, and most of the time these fillers are injected deeper than where the filler would be placed. If you aren't sure about the depth the filler was injected, discuss all of this with your injector. Armed with this information, they may even have counselled you differently about having the laser procedure. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Pro fractionated laser can be used safely after filler It is unlikely that the fractionated Erbium laser has caused any damage to the filler, as Juvederm should be nicely in place and very intact a few weeks after treatment. I believe strongly in the synergy of fractionated ablative laser and fillers, and often utilise various combinations myself for rejuvenation and acne scarring.

Answer: Depends on the depth of filler... Highly unlikely, as ProFractional even when 'over clocked' penetrates 1.7 mm down, and 1.5 mm in the maximum mode. Depending on the indication, most dermal fillers are placed much deeper than this. On the top cheek the most frequent position of filler is on bone, way out of reach of normal lasers. The only caveat is that if filler is placed in the very superficial dermis for acne scars. In this situation, I usually perform laser, then filler.
