How far forward can FUE bring a hairline down a round forehead profile to make the face appear more square from the side?

Hair transplant is not about how many grafts you need but understanding your goals and expectations. 2000 grafts may be enough for some but may not be enough for you if your expectations are different. The results also depend on your hair color to skin color contrast, hair texture, hair style, etc.

Try to think of the scalp having two planes, the vertical and the horizontal. As long as the grafts are placed in the horizontal plane then you are within the guidelines of normal hairline placement. Bringing the hairline down the vertical slope is almost always a bad idea.

I would not recommend bringing the hair line down to achieve a square profile but to seek a surgeon that can create a natural hair transplant result. This is achieved by reinforcing your hair line and temple area. I would also consider a chin implant consultation to achieve the desired proportions you have in mind. But i would do these procedures at different time than your hair transplant since hair transplantation requires you to be in different positions during surgery and its best to focus on these surgeries one at a time.

A transplant can help reframe the face and the result is a lasting change.  That being said, you want to create the best frame for your face and anatomy. You appear like you always had a high forehead. It would be an aesthetic mis-step to square off your hairline. I would rather keep the shape but reinforce and better define the hairline in a natural pattern that you will enjoy for the rest of your life.To improve your facial aesthetic, you should consider chin implantation as a second procedure to compliment hair restoration.  I have performed chin implants at the same time as hair transplants and the results have been strikingly beautiful.Best of luck from NYC!

There is no limit to how far you can bring your hairline down, the issue is to bring it down so that it improves your appearance and it is always normal. You need to work with an experienced hair transplant surgeon who can help you do this. FUE is now available in many surgeons hands, but make sure that they are experienced in it by asking to meet with some of their patients who had it done.
