I'm only 23 years old but my eyes make me look like I'm so exhausted and old. I would like them to be wider/longer, and I've been Trying to find some kind of procedure to make them look longer. I thought lateral canthoplasty might be suitable but now I'm not sure. My eyelids are clearly droopy and I think I might have ptosis. I've looked into blepharoplasty which seems like it could be an option. Can somebody offer any kind of guidance it would be great.
Answer: #blepharoplasty Hi It is difficult to determine from your photos what the best procedure for you would be. I cant see your pupils to tell you if you definitively have ptosis or not. Similarly the eyebrows are not included in your photos to determine if you have any brow ptosis or not. You should have a consultation to determine is surgery can help. Cheers damien

Answer: Eyelid Surgery to Change Eye Shape |Aperture Thank you for your question about eyelid surgery. To actually change the aperture of the eye or change eye shape, a combination of upper eyelid blepharoplasty with canthopexy or canthoplasty is likely required. To be sure what might best suit your needs, see two or more experienced, board-certified Plastic Surgeons or Occuloplastic Surgeons in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have eyelid surgery.I hope this helps.

Answer: How can I make my eyes look brighter and bigger. It is easier to make the eyes more wide open (vertically) than horizontally. This is called ptosis surgery. You do not have any severe ptosis, but micro-ptosis surgery could be done to help elevate your eyes a bit more open. You don't seem to have much extra skin, which is treated with a blepharoplasty. Some dermal filler could be placed into your lateral brow area, which can elevate a few millimeters and give a cosmetically pleasing fullness to the area. Dermal fillers are also nice for under the eyes if they are hollowed out or if they have large fatty bags to help camouflage them. Making the eyes wider through a canthoplasty can work, but usually will cause the eyes to tighten and make the vertical opening a bit more narrow. Canthoplasty can also change the shape of the eyes to a more pleasing "almond" shape for those that wish for that. Taking care of your eyes helps the white of the eyes show through better. This can be done by using lubricating (not Visine get the red out) eye drops if they get dry, irritated. Also, if your prone to allergies there are good over-the-counter antihistamine eye drops. Also important is to clean your eyelids in the evening and leave no makeup on them. There are excellent lid scrubs available these days (Ocusoft, Avenova) that can clean them safely and far better than with just soap and water.
