Will eye discomfort and eye strain from Botox ever go away?

Dear doctors, I am 3 weeks post botox and I suffer from dry eyes, pressure around my eyes and eye strain and discomfort. I had 16 units injected for under eye creases. Apart from undesirable cosmetic effects, my eyes never feel refreshed even though I slept for the whole night. I just need to know how long will this last? Thank you so much.

This should go away once the Botox goes away, which would be in about 3-4 months. Sorry to hear that you're not happy with your results, but this is not permanent. You can get eyedrops to help with the dry eyes.

Sorry about your
problem, and I would suggest first and foremost that you discuss this with your
injector – and if not a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon, I
would recommend finding one. Botox lasts 3-4 months on average and there are
eye drops that can help with eye droop that does not seem to be the problem
here; and there are drops for dry eyes – but this needs to be evaluated and
minimized if you find the right doctor to help.

Technically it can last as long as the Botox does which should be about 3-4 months. However, in most cases the discomfort will resolve quicker than that. You could try a prescription eye drop if you'd like. It may help in the meantime too. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and
