I have tried the fractional route and I don't believe fractional laser works well for scarring.
Answer: CO2 paired with melarase creams to help with acne scaring Fractional CO2 laser is an excellent tool for skin rejuvenation in our center in Santa Monica. We use the fractional multi-depth ablative approach to help resurface the skin, recontour acne scars, improve incisional plastic surgery scars, and reduce surface irregularities from skin tone to dark pigmentation. Our approach utilizes a multi-depth approach that targets melanocytes in the epidermis and collagen fibroblasts in the dermis. This approach can be combined with a TCA Peel in a process known as a sapphire peel. Fractional laser is excellent for acne scars and contour scars in the skin. Patients are advised to undergo skin protocols with Melarase creams before and after treatment to help reduce pigmentation. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. After the laser, we expect redness for a few weeks as the skin improves. PRP and Hydrafacial enzyme facials can further improve skin quality after fractional co2. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: CO2 Laser Thank you for your question. I would using recommend the CO2 laser for acne scars. The CO2 is effective for all skin types and particularly effective for treating acne, surgical and burn scars. The CO2 works by penetrating the deeper layers of the skin with pixelated shafts of focus light. The skin reacts by producing new healthy collagen that smooths out existing scars. For more information, I recommend getting a in person consultation from a board-certified dermatologist.

Answer: Lasers have superseded dermabrasion In the experienced hands, ablative lasers have largely superseded anything that dermabrasion can offer, with more specificity, control and results. I am not certain what nature of fractional laser you have had in the past, but it is important to match the right fractional device to the right scars and skin type, so seek an experienced specialist for best outcomes. Best wishes, Shobhan.
