I am looking at getting a breast augmentation done. Do you think I need a lift? I am not after larger breast but want to improve them after children with a bit of fullness. I have been reserching minimal scarring techniques as that bothers me. Would an 'internal bra' technquie be suitbale or a crescent lift? would implants alone work? What would be the advice based on my photos..
Answer: Breast augmentation Hello and thank you for your question. You are a great candidate for a breast augmentation using a dual plane technique without need for a formal lift. This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. This entire surgery can be performed with a small incision technique. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Answer: Breasts You need a lift because of the position of your breasts. the vertical lift should work nicely. the crescent lift will not be sufficient and may distort your areola. The internal bra will not address your sagging breasts and is not needed here.

Answer: BA or breast lift Dear Intuitive7986, Determiningwhether you need simply a breast augmentation versus a breast lift can be somewhat complicated. It depends on a number of factors including skin laxity and current nipple position. Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammaryline we can generally get by with just a breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often still using implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. To be sure a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will help determine what the patient actually needs. Answer: Interested in getting a breast augmentation. Do you think I need a lift? Looking to improve fullness. Thank you for the question and pictures. Much more information, especially your personal goals (best communicated with goal photographs and computer imaging in my practice), to provide you with meaningful advice. For example, it will be important that you demonstrate to your plastic surgeon what you mean by "improve fullness". Having said the above, based on your photographs and description of goals, it is likely that you will benefit from breast lifting as well as breast augmentation surgery. Although your breasts seem to be in somewhat "borderline" position when it comes to benefiting from breast lifting, your breasts do sit somewhat low on your chest wall and I think you will be happier with the long-term outcome of breast augmentation/lifting surgery, compared to breast augmentation surgery alone. A "vertical" mastopexy ( as well as augmentation cosponsors will likely achieve the best aesthetic outcome. A crescent breast lift does not provide significant enough of a breast lift to be valuable; in other words, it generally accomplishes nothing of significance, and will expose you to risks of areola distortion/elongation/poor scarring. An "internal bra" refers to a procedure done during revisionary breast suregry, and would not be relevant here. My best advice: select your plastic surgeon carefully. Make sure that he/she has significant experience achieving the types of outcomes you will be pleased with. Then, communicate your goals carefully, as discussed above. Working together you will come up with a good plan to achieve your goals. Best wishes..

Answer: Breast augmentation and breast lift Thank you for your question and for providing the photos. The position of your nipple doesn't look like it is below the level of the fold underneath the breast. Putting an implant in will have the effect of lifting the nipple slightly. I think you might get away with implants alone without a lift. An implant will certainly improve your fullness.Don't be talked into going for a large implant - go for a sensible implant that won't stretch your already stretched breast tissue too much.I hope this helps.
