Every plastic surgeon provides post-op guidelines for BBL recovery. It's always best to ask the surgeon who performed your BBL for his/her advice as he/she knows what would be best for your recovery. This is a very common combination but recovery is uncomfortable. I allow patients to sleep on their sides. Lying on your stomach or on your back will create pressure on your butt or breast. Patients can also rest in other positions as long as the other areas do not receive pressure. There are creative ways to manage this. For example, my patient coordinator recommends a plastic inflatable with a hole in it (called a lilo), where instead of your tummy, you place your butt, so you can sleep on your back with pillows propping up your neck and head.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
"Best way" is to avoid this combination of procedures as the recovery for one compromises the healing and end result of the other. Yes, having two procedures may seem inconvenient, but is even more convenient to need revision surgery because shortcuts were taken. And sometimes, revision surgery cannot fix everything. A boppy pillow or a donut pillow will simply be sandwiched between your buttocks and the seat/bed and will still prematurely put pressure on your buttocks, flattening the contour and harming the fat. I never recommend this type of pillow to my patients. If you decide to proceed with this combination, you will either have to sleep on your sides (hopefully no fat transfer is needed on your lateral buttocks or that will get squashed when laying in the side position) or you'll have to get creative with some other type of contraption that allows you to lay on your back without having any pressure on your buttocks whatsoever for the first six weeks. Best of luck!
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provide information as well. I personally recommend to sleep face up, semi flex and with a boppy pillow. But remember all doctors have their own instructions.Make sure you look for a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and cocnerns.Good luck :)
Hello, thanks for your question, you need to sleep on your back, with a boopy pillow on your buttocks for at least 6 weeks to prevent fat to go away or move, don't sleep on your sides or stomach for 2 months at least to protect your breasts.
Hello, thanks for your question, yes, at least you can lose a 40% of the fat that is injected, that can happen for the first 2 months from the procedure, that's why is good for the patient to not sit very much, and also to sleep or sit on a boopy pillow for at least 6 weeks.
This will depend upon your goals and your starting point. Fat can be taken from many different areas. In my opinion, you would want as much removed as possible up to 5 liters and as much transferred as possible. I have put up to 2000 cc or more of PURE FAT per buttock in some patients, and I r...
Its not unusual to have pain and swelling at the liposuction sites. It may take 2-3 months for most of the swelling to go down. It may even take as long as 6 months before sensation and appearance return to normal. Lymphatic massage is also very helpful to accelerate healing and desensitize the...
