Hello! I really love the results I've seen with [a good] microneedling session. I've done microneedling as is and with PRP. I've noticed topical Sculptra is now offered. I can't find much data or photos on this method. What are your thoughts? I like the reduced pores, minimized fines lines, improved tone and texture, faded scars, etc. that the procedure offers.
Answer: Sculptra is not a common practice. Hello and thank you for your question. While there has been some talk about topical Sculptra, it is not a common practice at this time. Sculptra is typically administered by injection into the internal dermal structure, where it stimulates collagen production to reverse signs of aging over time. As a part of a microneedling procedure, I don’t believe the research supports this practice yet. However, a patient’s own blood components or PRP (platelet rich plasma) as well as other topical serums can be used with microneedling to enhance your results, and even microneedling alone can produce dramatic rejuvenation results when performed properly. You can also complete a microneedling procedure and a Sculptra treatment at different times to reap the benefits of both. Good luck!

Answer: Microneedling with PRP I would not recommend topical Sculptra after microneedling sessions at this time. While some are offering this, I do not think there is adequate research to show that it is safe or effective. I would continue with the microneedling treatments with PRP.

Answer: Topical Sculptra with microneedling? I know this is being done but I'm concerned about this practice. I believe that you will either have no results because the particles are too big to go down into the microchannels create of that you will get nodularity from this. There are some advocating this but I don't think its a great idea. I'd like to see more data about this before recommending it.

Answer: Micro needling the face Micro-needling at proper intervals will by itself give you the results you're looking for. Sculptra particles are absolutely contraindicated to be present in the dermis or the skin in any amount whatsoever. Good luck from New York City
