Would Bellafill correct under eye hollows? (not tear trough).

I do not recommend using Bellafill to fill in under eye hollowness.  The skin is very thin in that area and Bellafill can cause long-standing visible irregularities there.  I would recommend using one of the hyaluronic acid filers for that area.  

Although many physicians do not use Bellafil in this area if it is done correctly, using cannulas, not needles and deep below the orbicularis muscle it gives excellent and permanent results. 

I don't recommend Bellafill under the eyes, due to the risk of long-term complications. These fillers (belotero, volbella, restylane silk) are good for under the eye, but keep in mind, a combination approach will give the most improvement. Fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP can improve under the eyes. My patients try to get non surgical treatments to avoid surgery. We use PRP and stem cells there often. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for your short and long term goals. Best, Dr. Emer

I think Bellafill is a great filler for the cheeks and undereye hollows. It should not be injected too superficially or in large quantities here. This must be done by an extremely experienced user in this area. I layer an HA filler in the tear troughs over the Bellafill for best results. Always use cannulas in this area.

Bellafill is not recommend nor indicated for filling the hollow  under your eyes or tear trough.  Restylane is my personal favorite for that area.  Others include Belatero or Restylane Silk.

Thank you for your question. I would not use Bellafill to treat your under-eye hollows. I recommend using dermal fillers such as Restylane or Belotero. Other options include laser resurfacing and PRP. Please make sure you get a formal evaluation from a board-certified dermatologist.

Bellafill may be the best solution there is for under eyelid hollows.  It is far more predictable than fat injections and lasts a long time (it is essentially permanent) and is your own tissue so you you do not even know it is there.  Finally, the safety profile for Bellafill (number of reported problems to the company per syringes sold) is the same as any other filler.
