Answer: Nipple sensitivity after explant Hello, thank you for your question! The sensitivity of your nipples after breast implant removal can vary widely from person to person. The video I have attached explains what you can generally expect regarding nipple sensitivity after explantation. While many women do experience a return to normal nipple sensitivity after breast implant removal, individual results can vary. Monitoring your symptoms post-surgery and discussing any concerns with your surgeon will help you manage expectations and address any issues that arise during recovery.

Answer: Depends on how long implants have been in place Dear Polite954441 thank you for your question. How much sensation of the nipples will improve will be directly related to how long your implants have been in place. If it has only been a few weeks or months after augmentation there is a chance that the nerves can heal and some sensation will be recovered. However if implants have been in place for years it is unlikely you will notice a change in sensation after explantation.

Answer: Nipple sensitivity after implant removal Hello, although there is a risk of decreased or loss of nipple sensitivity after any breast procedure, it would be very unlikely after a simple implant removal without a lift or capsule removal (as long as you currently have sensation and didn’t lose it with the original surgery). Even with those procedures, the risk is pretty low. Good luck with your procedure! Dr. Sumer Daiza

Answer: Explant with Bellesoma Method If you lost sensation in your nipples right after your initial surgery of placement of implants then most likely they cut the majors nerves to the nipple and the sensation will not return. If for some reason your nerves have been stretched and the lose of sensation is from stretching then removing the implants will help the sensation return. Most women are dissatisfied with implant removal only because of the hanging skin. You may need a simultaneous lift. The technique I recommend is explantation and lift using The Bellesoma Method. The implants are removed, your breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Verticals scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery. Later, fat transfer can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Sensation The sensation may possibly stay the same or perhaps be damaged some more. Usually, just removing the implants and leaving the capsules in place causes the least amount of trauma to your nerves.
