I had my lips injected with juvederm 4 days ago and on day 2 I developed a small bruise above my top lip. I am worried that it could be a vascular occlusion. I don't have any pain. I went back to check with my injector who brought the doctor in and they didn't seem too worried but said to keep and eye on it. Should I be worried?

Answer: Bruising vs. Vascular Occlusion Thank you for your question. I tend to agree with your injector - if this were vascular occlusion, you would likely have pain, and the discoloration would have been somewhat immediate. This seems to be simple bruising that should resolve over the next couple of days. Continue to keep an eye on things, and follow up with your injector to ensure that you continue to improve. If your symptoms change, of course, contact them immediately. Best of luck!
