I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol regarding compression. I have my patients wear customized compression after their procedure. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your post. The type of foam is up to the discretion of the surgeon or personal preference of the patient. Both options adequately aid in even compression when used underneath the garment. I typically use foam sheets for easier placement. Hi, Thank you for your post. Foam sheets are an excellent addition to your garment after liposuction. The foam really helps prevent and reduce any kind of lines that can form during the healing process. It allows the skin to stay smooth under the garment in areas that would crease without it. I personally like one solid piece of foam but if you can't find a solid sheet, multiple individual sheets will work just fine. Every plastic surgeon has a different preference so just follow whatever your surgeon advises for the best healing.
Dear wonderWorld,Foams are great to used after lipo. They will help you to even the pressure of the garment and make your skin look smoother right away. You could either use it all around or individual, both work pretty good it only depends on your preference. I personally like the wrap around ones. Best wishes.
Each surgeon is different and not all use foam after liposuction as not all use a compression garment either.
Some folks like foam for the specific compression under a garment. Foam cut from sheets to fit a certain area may be helpful. I am more of a proponent of a well fitting snug compression garment for ease of putting on and foam can be very hot under clothing. I would recommend trying to find a girdle/garment that fits very well instead.Cheers,Brad Remington, MD
Wrap around foam is mandatory in my office! It must be medical grade foam and it should go underneath the garment.
p around can be difficult to fit Both types of foam work. Try both and see what you like best. The wrap around can be difficult to fit but so can the individual sheets. My Best, Dr Commons
