I look at my chest every day since surgery and feel that I should remove them. I am concerned that if I remove them that I will be deformed. I am also worried about leaving them in and continuing to hate them. They are WAY bigger then I wanted. What would happen if I removed them ASAP?
Answer: Implant Removal Hello! Though this question was posted several years ago, other patients may benefit from ongoing comments/discussion. My personal opinion is that it is ok to remove them right away. You will not be deformed- you will simply go back to your original size/shape given they have been in for only 3 weeks. I have removed implants/capsules as early as 3 months after placement (I did not place them- nor do I place any implants in my practice) and the breasts return to their natural state as they heal over the course of a year. Hope this helps!Dr Dev

Answer: Considering Removal 3 Weeks Post Breast Augmentation I'm sorry to read of your disappointment so soon after your augmentation. It is still very soon into your post-augmentation healing to judge your final results. #Pain and #discomfort vary per person following a #Breast Augmentation. As healing will continue for 2-3 months, swelling, bruising, malposition and color differences are common. Sensation may also be abnormal and scars will be evolve. Tingling, burning or shooting #pains will disappear with time and should not alarm you. It is simply a result of the regeneration of your sensory nerves. If these sensations cause pain, repeated, local self-massage per your surgeon's permission may help. If my patients have concerns that their healing or pain are unusual, it is important for them to call the office and discuss these concerns or come in to be examined. However, it it typically recommended to wait 6 to 12 months for a revision or additional surgery depending on the reason. I suggest contacting your doctor to address your pain before scheduling an implant removal procedure six to twelve months from now.

Answer: Breast implant removal I'm sorry you are unhappy with your breast augmentation. You can elect to have your implants removed at any time. Since they have only been in place three weeks you can expect to return to a look similar to that before implants once healing is complete. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon. At this point in recovery you are still swollen and the implants are firm. Over the next few months they will change and have a softer look.

Answer: Unhappy Do remember that you were not happy before surgery, so you may not be happy after removal. I would suggest considering going down in size to a more appropriate size for your frame and tissue. You may be much more comfortable with 300-350 cc's. The size you have now is a large and heavy implant. Please discuss all your concerns with your surgeon.

Answer: I got breast implant profile implants 3 weeks ago and I think I should remove them I am sorry to hear about the stressful situation you find yourself in. There is no "standard" waiting time when it comes to breast implant removal surgery. What is important: make sure that you are convinced that you do not wish to have breast implants in place and are not experiencing (quite commonly experienced) emotional "ups and downs" around the time of surgical procedures. As I am sure you have read and heard, there is both a physical and psychological adaptation period that occurs after elective breast surgery. In other words, make your decisions very carefully so as not to have future regrets. Your plastic surgeon should be able to help you with specific questions, concerns, thoughts… For example, he/she will likely be able to show you (with the use of before and after photographs) examples of what you might expect your breasts to look like after breast implant removal surgery. Best wishes.
