Answer: Breast implant removal after 5 weeks I am sorry to hear about the stressful experience; it may help you to know that you are not alone. Occasionally, patients will realize that the breast augmentation surgery was not the right course and wish to have breast implants removed relatively soon after breast augmentation surgery. Generally, I advise these patients to do their best to be patient and allow themselves some time to physiologically and psychologically adapt to the new body image. In other words, I want the patients to be as sure as possible that they are making the right (well thought out) decision; I also remind them that it is quite common for patients to experience significant emotional “ups and downs” around the time of surgery... Having said that, once a patient has decided definitively to remove her breast implants, there is no standard waiting time. Although no one can predict with complete certainty, given your history, duration of time the breast implants have been in place, my prediction would be that your breasts will look quite similar to your preoperative breasts, once the breast implants have been removed. Of course, it may take several months for you to see the final outcome of the procedure performed.Your plastic surgeon will be your best resource when it comes to more specific and/or predictions. Best wishes with your decision-making and for an outcome that you will be pleased with.
