I received two injections yesterday -one of restalyn silk the other of just regular restalyn. I noticed severe swelling in my top lip about 5 hours after the procedure. Is this normal? Should I go visit my doctor? Did I get too much fillers? It's difficult to talk and they feel tight when I do talk.
Answer: Swelling Thanks for your question. The swelling can be present up to 2 to 3 days after the treatments. You can place ice packs on the lips to help with the swelling. I hope this helps. Dr. Newall

Answer: Lip Swelling After Fillers Such as Juvederm or Restylane -- Reverse With Hyaluronidase Lip Swelling After Fillers Such as Juvederm or Restylane -- Reverse With HyaluronidaseIt is common to get swelling after fillers into the lips. It is not normal to have irregularities or severe swelling. If you are unhappy you should speak to your physician and have the area injected with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that reverses the hyaluronic acid filler. For the next injections, consider Restylane Silk with cannula injection, this technique will limit the pain, swelling or bruising after the filler placement. It often takes up to two weeks for swelling to subside on its own. Find an expert in filler injections for your future treatments. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: I have lip injections swelling. Is this normal? I appreciate your question. Yes this is normal. Swelling can last up to 2 weeks in some patients. You can ice the injected area off and on every 10 min. You should also definitely call your Injecting MD and make them aware of your situation so he/she can review their post injection instruction sheet with you in detail and possibly have you come in so they can examine you at this time. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery. best of luck!
