Is this bruising or Tyndall effect? (Photo)

this may be hemosiderin or iron staining from bruising but the only wayt to know is to give it time (2 more weeks) or try to reverse the area with hyaluronidase and see what happens.  If it doesnt improve with that, then pulsed dye laser and/or q switched/pico lasers will be needed.  bleaching creams do not work for iron staining after bruising.  Please see an expert.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Hi Carter. If this is a picture of the bruised eye from the injection, then it's likely still residual bruising.  If your skin type is medium or darker, then it's possible that what you are seeing is the beginning of hemosiderin staining.  This is a condition whereby the patient develops long term pigmented changes after deep bruising and it is especially common in patients of Middle Eastern descent.  To see an example of how we treat this condition, click on the link below.  As an aside, if your injector were to use a technique called "under the muscle" it would be very unlikely to get bruising.  We use this technique and very few of our tear trough injection patients ever have this issue.  

The Tyndall effect is a blue coloration due to scattering of light from the filler. This  does not look like that and it is most likely increased pigment due to the bruising and may not go away without some treatment--be sure you are seeing a board certified dermatoligist or plastic surgeon
