Question

I have a heaviness around my mouth and in my lower cheeks. What surgery would resolve it? I'm not open to fillers. Thanks!

Based on your pictures, it looks like you would be a good candidate for a small liposuction of the area.

It is important that you go to a person who has an excellent eye and shares your vision for the best results. You don’t want to remove too much fat in the area either as it could age you

thank you for your question. Based on your pictures I am not sure, if a reduction of the buccal fat is the solution you are looking for. As you may have noted there is (like in most of us) an asymmetry in volume, which might be more noticeable after the procedure. Although buccal fat removal is a procedure mainly hyped by social media, it can be a great solution for some, but not for all. Instead of achieving a more defined appearance, patients appear aged. I put some  facts & myths  about this procedure in the link below. A discussion about your personal goals with your plastic surgeon is probably the best solution. I hope this helps.

Fullness of the lower anterior cheeks or chubby cheeks is usually secondary to enlarged buccal fat pads.Early marionette lines (saggy-looking skin that is evident from the corner of the mouth towards the jaw line) are usually secondary to saginess of the face skin and weak cheekbones.Buccal fat removal is the procedure that permanently corrects the fullness of the lower anterior cheeks or chubby cheeks. It allows the patients to go from a round face or chubby face to a more chiseled look. However, this procedure will not correct marionette lines. For that, it is necessary to undergo other procedures like lateral cheekbone enhancement.  The video below helps to determine if someone could be candidate for buccal fat removal.
